Our aims
GreenDependent’s mission is to research and promote sustainable lifestyles, production and consumption methods and systems. Its Statutes include various aims, some of which are listed below:
- To create, research, adapt, promote and spread working models of social, environmental, and economical sustainability to individuals, communities, civil society, business and governing organisations in order to create a more sustainable society.
- To increase environmental awareness and reduce the impact of human activities (the so-called ‘ecological footprint’) on the environment and ecosystems.
- To encourage and facilitate dialogue about social, environmental and economical sustainability with the involvement of individuals, communities, civil society, business and governing organisations.
Through its activities GreenDependent tries to establish links between research and everyday living so that important findings can be disseminated, discussed and put into practice as soon as possible. While GreenDependent partners in international projects, it also tries to be active on the local level: it initiates dialogue, motivates changes, and sets examples.
GreenDependent is a supporting member of the Alliance of Climate-friendly Municipalities in Hungary.
